We would like to say a special “Thank You” to each of the individuals and churches that sent Christmas cards, made phone calls and sent special Christmas offerings to our family.
We appreciate very much your thoughtfulness and generosity during the Christmas season. You are a blessing to this family!
During December, we held a special Christmas Concert and Tamale Dinner.
It was an hour of special music with traditional Christmas hymns as well as a couple of Christmas songs
I had composed, intermingled with the Christmas story and the reason for it all---our salvation. Several first-time visitors attended the concert and we had two professions of faith that night and one person rededicating his life to the Lord.
Our Plans for the Summer
I want to inform you about some plans for the summer. These plans will involve not only our family here in Guatemala, but also our son, Jonathan, who is currently studying at Pensacola Christian College. We will be traveling to Chiapas, Mexico to hold some detailed Sunday School workshops. They will be two-day workshops that will be held in four different centralized locations within the Mexican state of Chiapas. A few churches already have Sunday Schools implemented, while the majority of them will just be starting to teach Sunday School in their churches and missions. It will be quite the task as two or three of the workshops will have to be translated into the Tzeltal Indian language. We are currently working on materials and a three-year lesson plan for a thru-the-Bible type teaching. Pray that all materials will be completed on time.
Jonathan is currently in his third year of his Pastoral Ministry degree with a minor in Biblical Languages. His desire is to work on Bible translation in areas where no Word of God currently exists. He will also be helping on some New Testament translation projects there in Chiapas. Please pray for Jonathan as he raises support for this new mission in his life.
God bless you all!
